Deborah E. Lipstadt, a scholar who won a famous legal battle over a Holocaust denier, will speak about modern anti-Semitism during the Solomon-Tenenbaum Lectureship in Jewish Studies on Jan. 28, 2018 at the My Carolina Alumni Center. Lipstadt’s book “Denial: Holocaust History on Trial,” was adapted into the 2016 movie “Denial” starring Rachel Weisz and Tom Wilkinson. A book signing will follow Lipstadt’s talk. A signature event from the University of South Carolina College of Arts and Sciences, the annual lectureship is made possible by benefactors, Melvin and Judith Solomon of Charleston, and Samuel and Inez Tenenbaum of Columbia.
