One State. One Voice. One Mission.
Jewish communities from across South Carolina, including Columbia, Greenville, Charleston, and beyond, are coming together for a day of advocacy and action at the State House. This is our opportunity to stand united, speak directly with legislators, and ensure Jewish voices are heard at the highest levels of government.
Our Mission: Advocacy in Action
This year, we are focused on supporting critical legislation that impacts the safety, security, and well-being of Jewish communities in South Carolina. We are advocating for:
Bill H3039 – The Clementa C. Pinckney Hate Crimes Act
A long-overdue bill that would finally bring South Carolina in line with 47 other states that have hate crime laws. This bill ensures that violent crimes motivated by race, religion, ethnicity, or other protected characteristics are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
State Security Grant Bill (New Legislation Proposal)
Modeled after the federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program, this initiative seeks to establish a dedicated state funding stream for places of worship and faith-based organizations to enhance security. With institutions stretched thin, this bill would provide critical resources to protect congregations and ensure safer community spaces across South Carolina.
This day is about more than just advocating—it’s about learning how laws are made, meeting your elected officials, and seeing firsthand how to create change in your state.
