Beth Shalom Synagogue, affiliated with the Conservative movement, offers the Columbia community a range of opportunities for study, prayer and service. The synagogue conducts weekly evening minyans Monday-Thursday, and Shabbat services on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. The congregation also offers a wide-ranging adult education program, including opportunities for studying Hebrew and participating in adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah classes, discussion groups, and lectures on diverse topics such as Israel, Jewish holidays, and life-cycle events. The synagogue sponsors the annual Bubbie’s Brisket and Bakery, monthly Tuesdays with Friends Program for Seniors, and is home to a thriving Sisterhood and Men’s Club.
Beth Shalom houses the Cutler Jewish Day School, a mikvah, which is available to the entire community, and a Judaica shop.
