Join us for a fun-in-the-sun afternoon on the River in Famously Hot Columbia, SC! This adventure starts at the Riverwalk Ampitheater where we will check in and shuttle to our launch point!
Who: All Jews, friends and family of Jews, locals, imports, students, and especially people looking for a fun afternoon with the YAD Crew! This is a great way to meet other young adult Jews in the Columbia Area!
When/Where: We will meet at 12:30PM on Sunday July 14th at the Palmetto Outdoor Center Booth at the Riverwalk Ampitheater (just across the Gervais Street Bridge in West columbia). The shuttle for the zoo leaves at 1PM so be sure to get there early because it takes about 15-20 minutes to register and rent a tube. Tube rentals are $15, which includes a life jacket and a shuttle to the Riverbanks Zoo where will will begin our 2.25 mile quest!
What: Float time is 2-3 hours and the Palmetto Outdoor Center will be providing us with cooler tubes so we can stay hydrated and keep our snacks dry (no glass bottles or styrofoam) Swimming, relaxing, making friends, and having fun are all strongly encouraged. This float includes Class 2 rapids so children are welcome as long as they are heavier than 50lbs and strong swimmers. We will all end up 'full circle' at the Riverwalk Ampitheater where people are welcome to hang out in the shade and trade river stories!
