Patty Tucker

Patty has been a long-time leader within the Columbia Jewish community. She is the current president of Tree of Life Congregation, as well as the co-chair of the Columbia Holocaust Education Commission along with Esther Greenberg.

When her three boys were young, Patty served as co-president of the local chapter of B’nai B’rith Women with Ellen Seidenberg, chaired the Beth Shalom Religious School Education Committee, and co-directed the JCC Preschool with Minda Miller. Since her retirement from the Lexington school system, where for two decades she was a school librarian as well as a technology trainer for teachers, she has held many volunteer leadership positions in the Jewish community, working diligently to contribute to the successful programs of several organizations. She served several years on the JCC Board and Executive Committee and co-chaired with Ruth Rast the JCC Columbia Jewish Film Festival.

For all these significant community activities, Patty is an exemplar of our tradition of L’Dor V’Dor – maintaining a vibrant Jewish community with traditions that can be passed on from generation to generation.
